Title: G40 throttle cable
Post by: JregGT on January 10, 2011, 07:32:14 PM
Righto folks, is a G40 throttle cable the same as a GT cable. I've looked on etka, and the only differentiation I can find is, a RHD/LHD or diesel.
But i've got it in my head somewhere that i read G40 cables were different, something about longer solid tube, i'm presuming the brass bit.
If it makes little to no difference, I won't worry. But I imagine VW wouldn't of made a different one just for fun.

Cheers folks

Rich

Sounds familiar... You'll probably find that the throttle cables are identical, but the bracket which bolts to the inlet manifold and holds the cable outer is different between the GT/NZ engines and the G40 engine. This will be to accomodate for the different throttle bodies and therefore placement of the 'wheel' which holds the cable inner (the cable itself). I think that's right.... ??? :)

Sounds good to me!!!! I do know the throttle cable brackets are different, I remember reading that in a previous post, will get it set up with what i've got, and take it from there.
