Title: Tracking
Post by: xrrich on December 21, 2010, 05:26:09 PM
Just went to get tracking checked, because the car feels really wobbly and unsafe.

Turns out its 17mm out, apparently this is really bad?!
and he says he cant correct it fully because he will run out of thread.

Ive got gaz coilovers on it,

just after some advice really, if anyone else has come along this problem

Cheers rich

I think it may be something to do with non-genuine racks/steering arms being different? Not something I've experienced but I remember reading a bit about it, either on here or Club Polo.

Have the coilovers had the steering arms modified, or moved?

If you're steering arms are the correct parts or have been fine with stock struts, then here lies your problem.

Steering arms are the ones that were with the old struts,
Do these need to be changed when fitting coilovers?!

i think andys referring to the height of here the steering arm mount on the coilover strut. it may be that this wasnt moved further up the strut to retain the correct geometry of the steering arms, rather than having them as a ridiculous angle.
