Was just wondering what the average tank of fuel a G40 gets through?? ive manage to get 216miles to a tank what should i be getting if drive it fairly sensiblly?
many thanks
chris
I average 300 miles and the best i have done is 350 miles but that was motorway driving.
Other day when i got fuel, the clock was on 262 and i put in 20 litres in a 45 litre tank. I worked out the mpg and it was 46 i think. Again motorway driving.
My moded G running 65mm pulley and chip etc averages from 170 to 220 miles from a tank of unleaded. If I use super unleaded I get about 20 to 25 miles more.
My stock G averages 360 to 380 miles which is nice.
It depends what spec your running and what roads you use like town or motorway?
Mines running toothies, full blend charger, G60 injectors and chip.
i normally stick 15 quids worth of super (either v power or momentum) and get between 70-110 miles depending on how i drive
fuel consumption is always worse in the winter.
15 quids worth in the 16v afh mk2 got me 120-140 miles,a and i drove that like a bastard everywhere

not being funny but if your answer is coming to 46mpg I think you are working it out wrong.
35mpg is reasonable on a good run, 40mpg is possible if you drive like a granny. 46 is just a bit too good though, especially in the cold weather, maybe if you are working out mpg while coasting down a large hill?
I definitely get better mpg on motorway runs in mine since the turbo conversion though.

I worked that out myself and i was proved wrong by this website. This website actually came to 59.55 to the gallon. Have a look for your self.

When I did my best at 350 miles and 40 litres of fuel it came up at 39 Mpg
Best I've ever had out of a tank is 430 but that was running a charger in very gently on one long run. I normally get about 350 with mixed driving but that has dropped in the cold weather.
arghhhhhhhh
not another mpg thread, sam your figures just do not make sense, 430 miles to a tank, has mikey hacked your account? lol
lets be honest no body was thinking about mpg when we bought our G40

Yes, that is true... But you reconsider every time you have to refuel! :D
i only use mine in summer so the amount i spend on fuel is worth it for the joy of boost!

That's only 43mpg or so Dan! I've got 41mpg out of my turbo taking it steady(ish) on the motorway.
i once did 436 to a tank but that ran dry and was stranded on the motorway - this was basically 60 mph for teh whole tank though off boost

it's actually a smidge under 48mpg! (assuming 9 gallon tank)
had 400 to a tank before, 40mpg - got to manchester at 37mpg. worst is somewhere between 17 and 22ish mpg!
You must get more than 9 gallon in, I worked it out to be about 43mpg as I recall. Dan if it makes sense or not, it happened.
i get what you are saying but there are variables that could be wrong(wheels, tyres, gearbox error), and user error too
i personally can not see it, but if you say it happened it must have lol

The tanks are 45 litres though I thought, so more like 9.9 imperial gallons.
i've put 48L in mine before, but its a pattern one - might be a little bigger
i dont trust petrol pumps
