Title: New G40 Owner
Post by: Evo-Unknown on August 24, 2008, 08:18:58 PM
Hi.

Just want to introduce myself to the forum. Bought an Artic (?) White Polo G40 today. Very original, every single receipt since day of purchase, completely unmodified and enthusiast owned. But it has very high miles however and is in need of a fair bit of cosmetic tidying.

Always wanted one of these when I was younger and thought it would be a great little (economical) purchase for myself and my partner. Never had a VW before and I know nothing of any of them, so have a lot to learn!

My other drive is a 276bhp Subaru Impreza STI Type R and I've been driving Jap rally imports for the last 8 years now, but I really enjoyed the drive home in the G40 - it has loads of character I reckon, feels very light and chuckable, and looks very retro cool in White.

Looking forward to ownership, tidying it up a bit and light modifications. Thank God this site exists...

Regards,

Mark.

Welcome to the site! I know what you mean about G40s, I've driven all sorts of cars through my job and I still love getting behind the wheel of mine. :)

Thanks guys.

Took it to Paultons Park and back today for its first drive and it was flawless. Really stood out in the car park too. No other car was as old, as white, had smaller wheels or was as purposeful looking!
