dunno if everyone has seen this already but it's a bloody good read if you have an afternoon spare.  The work going into the car is amazing:

This is the best of stuff and for some strange reason I find it depressing. Why? because the country's rife with talented people like this. From the oldest metalworking skills to the forefront of automotive technology, it's all there; only it's "Back Street Heros" stuff, rarely recognised.

Jon is pretty much 'it' when it comes to UK Pro Drag Racing chassis. Not sure if you mean he was one of the back street heroes but I see your point.

Scary/Odd as we were talking about Jon this morning.

Red Victor 1 was on Dave TV today, fifth gear i think.  Bleedin mental.  Reckon it owed him 100k.  They took it for spin and on a busy 2 lane road, floored it a little to show the acceleration, UNreal!

first pass, 7.53 @ 189.00.. More boost required on the line said andy

Apparently best run today was

7.23 @ 199

Wish i had gone down and said hi. Did 8.7 seconds. Apparently he changed gear at 6500rpm instead of 8500rpm. Wanted to test/run engine for 1st time.
