i know most of em are arses anyway but they are doing my head in now.
Has anyone else been to their main dealership for parts lately cos i cant get any.
i`m after the gaskets and bolts for the throttle body and i`ve gave the part numbers to vw for the manifold and throttle body and nothing at all is coming up ???
ive got to go down there in the morning with all the parts which is strange cos ive never had to do that before.
ive already made my own gaskets out of gasket paper but when i put it all back together the car idled at 2000 rpm and i think i could feel a slight leak from them so i want to use genuine gaskets if i can,
could a slight leak from the gasket cause the idle to jump up to 2000 rpm?
Just yours by the sounds of it fella, I rang one I use on tuesday, for new t/b to inlet bolts, Inj rail bolts, T/B gasket and Rear water pipe gasket, expecting the worst, but then had a phone call tday, saying that they are all there, and ready for collection. Sounds like you may of got somebody on a bad day!!!
its my pal who works there and we`ve tried for these parts a few times and so have some of the other lads and just keep coming up with nothing.
effing thicko`s, i did say at the start of this thread most of them are arses.
jregGT can i ask which dealership you dealt with so i can tell the lads at my dealership that you had no problem getting them there.
thanks, liam
Will let you know tomorrow but last time i got them gaskets, they had no problem getting them.
and thats the yeovil one.
Picked them up today mate, no problems. Thats a strange one your end. I had them from Ventura Park Tamworth in the Midlands.
On the invoice the numbers are
T/B Gasket V030 133 073 A £1.86 + vat
T/B Bolts VN 014 705 14 0.26 + vat
Hope that helps, and that you can get them sorted mate.
Rich
Used to have a convince the VW Parkway part desks at Derby on nearly every visit that it definately wasn't a 3F engine since thats all ekta diagrams used to bring up. "G40 mate?, you sure it's not a golf? Since that a had a G60 at some point didn't it?" "You sir, are a retard!"

thanks for that mate, if they can`t come up with anything now i`m armed with every single part number i need i just wont be able to walk out of there without calling them all thick spaz`s,
in fact i might just go to another dealer and try there to save the bother.
Are you sure the part codes you are giving them are up to date? The codes do change sometimes. I'd just ask for the parts and let them search for them on ETKA, just watch the screen when they do it so you can double check they are looking at the right thing.
i managed to get the t/b to manifold gasket and bolts sorted today with the part numbers jregGT gave me but still cant get the gasket for the t/b to the boost return housing bit on top of the t/b as etka only show one picture and its of the 3f engine.
the t/b to manifold bolts are the same across the range but the other gasket is a g40 part only,
i think thats why they kept coming up with nothing when i asked them to search for the parts on etka without specific part numbers.
That gasket is in ETKA - Rae found it and posted it in the forum. However that post (along with all his others) are long gone. I don't know if it's in a 'G40 part numbers' thread or if a
Mod can find Rae's old post in the archives?
