Ello,
At the stage now where i've managed to source down pipe n manifold for a k03 conversion, looking for actuators and recirc dump valves. Just wondering wether people went to vw or got em of ebay or wat have you. Been looking on the bay n seen a fair few but quality is debatable.
Cheers etches

I got most of my bits either second hand or aftermarket, got a forge actuator 2nd hand and a baily dump valve second hand of eBay both where bargins realy as brand new there very pricey.
So personaly I'd just get second hand good condition parts from eBay or fourms or where ever you can. Only my opinion though mate up to you at the end of the day
-
Oh rite cheers for the info mate, i didnt realise you could use what ever dump valve you wanted makes it abit easier!
-
you are only limited to using a re-circ one on the original 20vt engine because the air flow meter doesn't read right otherwise.
-
Im planning on running standard internals when i go turbo what sort of injectors can i use, presume G60 ones arnt enough?
-
Depends on how much power you intend to get it to. 250cc ones are good till you get near 200bhp. Also speak to whoever is going to remap it about what base maps they have and what injectors they are to suit.
-
Was planning on getting it down to PPP tbh although its pretty far from sheff
-
Not too far from Sheff ;) Only accross the peaks.
Dependant on your power aim, I'd reccomend 250cc injectors for 180bhp> less and for any more power (I.E bigger map sensor, 21psi boost etc) go for 310cc.
We've maps to suit both and can do a custom calibration for your car :)
-
Well i want to see how it feels with standard internals first so yeah 250 cc ones sound oright! When i've got some free time ill blast up a thread with the stuff i have so far.
cheers etches
-
15psi of boost or less, and 250cc are the way to go. More boost, bigger MAP sensor = 310cc.
-
Well wots the max boost pressure you can reliably run with standard internals i think is the question of the day. Also thank god, i though PPP was based in Surrey for some silly reason, well more inclined to pop over now.
-
I run 21psi with a standard bottom end. It's ok as long as the fuelling is sorted for it. We left it slightly richer at high loads to keep it cool, could make a touch more power not doing that but best safe than sorry. 1341cc forged pistons are the ideal but I have a mortgage to pay ;) my bottom end cost me £50 and it make 194bhp which isn't to be sniffed at.
-
After seeing yours haysey it was the reason why i chose not to go the 1341 way, although BVH are still pretty expensive! Well i best be on the hunt for some 310cc injectors lads, cheers for the help as always

yeah the BVH wasnt cheap but still half a 1341 bottom end. although 1341 would make a nicer car to drive off boost, I'm not too fussed about that given that it's just a weekend toy and track day car.
-
To be fair, if your chassis is mostly standard, you're far better off aiming for 175bhp at 15psi on a standard MAP sensor and saving for chassis mods. A standard G40 chassis with no subframe isn't so bad with a K03 turbo'd 175bhp, but if you wind the boost up to 21psi (approx 190-205bhp depending on bottom end) then you need to start thinking about how to get the power down.
-
Hmm I'd say the same for 175bhp really, mine was pretty wayward with about 150bhp (back with the g-lader) on a track day without the subframe and diff.

I already have a wishbone conversion which is fully poly bushed , with uprated rear engine mount and I have a metal gb mount too
