Title: Should I do it or not!? exhaust manifold
Post by: GR40 on July 22, 2010, 09:51:19 AM
Well one of the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold broke in half and my garage said its best for all of them to be replaced with new ones. Now since I am getting the exhaust manifold out, should I do anything else other than cleaning!? I am tempted to use a dremel on it, should I do it? Is there any gain to it, or will I just weaken it!? Has anyone done anything like this before!? My garage seems to believe that I am going to loose power if I do it! The car sees 1,2bar every day on my way to work and other than the eaton installation and the custom exhaust from cat to back there is nothing more to it! I am awaiting for a gt manifold and a set of g60 injectors!

I wouldn't bother, you'll not get any more power really from the cast manifold and run the risk of weakening it.

I really wouldn't. This will be a waste of your time and effort for an outcome which will achieve nothing or near to nothing...!?! A 4 branch manifold from PPP (if it fits with the eaton?) will be bar far the best and most cost effective road to go down on the manifold front!
