Title: fitting new ppp manifold, charger belt tension?
Post by: gti jack on July 17, 2010, 06:54:33 PM
i started to fit my new manifold to the g40 and wasnt exspecting it to turn into  a pig of a job,so i have loosend the charger belts to make room for the old manifold to come off,im in the process of putting it all back to getther and im just wondering hoe tight the belts should be and if there is a way to get them tight as i only loosend them by undoing a bolt lol, how tight should they be and how to go about doing it?

cheers
jack.

If you look at the charger end plate there's a square hole which is just over 1/2" stick a breaker bar in there and push towards the rear of the car, then nip the bolt up.

Easier with 2 people but you can do it with 1 :)
