Hi all, the inner bush on my TCA is gone and need to sort it for the mot. I understand they're rose jointed on G40s. The new arm is around £100 which I would rather not spend at the moment.
I've been doing some reading on here and some people just use the lower spec TCA's and fit them with powerflex bushes. Is this right?
But then that will probably cost near the same price as one new TCA so if thats the case I may aswell replace the worn TCA as the other one is fine and then it keeps it all G40 spec which I'd prefer as I'm selling it soon.
Am I right in thinking you can't remove the rose jointed bush and fit a powerflex item?
Just checking that this information is correct and that theres not a cheaper but still sufficient option.
Cheers
Jake
you are correct!
and you cant remove the rose joint and fit a powerflex item in the G40 TCA?
from what i know they have a different casting... dont quote me on that though...
I bet it'll be possible to press out the spherical bearing and fit a new one.
all depends on whether you can get boots to suit.
I have a sh4gged one hayes - want to try on dk's press?
I've got a single one somewhere too (off that orange g we took the engine out of), I've been meaning to give it a go.
I need it quick to get it mot'd. charger is back from service tomorrow so gotta run it in before I put the car up for sale. Think I'm just gonna order a new arm tomorrow.
If anyone presses out an original rose joint thats buggered then take
some pics as i`d love to see them.
Fred.
