Title: Induction Kits - What Are You Running?
Post by: pettsy on June 20, 2010, 11:09:43 AM
Basically im after a new induction kit setup for my G. Was wanting one of the jabba shield kits, but they're waiting for bits to make one up. I've rung them about 4 times over the last month or so and they don't really seem interested in my business. What are the other options?

I'd personally use the pipercross induction kit and then connect a cold feed pipe from the filter to the front bumper.

I thought that the general consensus was that foam filters and superchargers don't go together due to the foam breaking down entering the charger where it mixes with oil vapour and forms a grinding paste.

I was planning to give one of these a go:

they use green air filters in the kits now, allthough they've been waiting over two weeks for some to be sent out.Don't mind waiting, but the least they could do is let me know rather than getting "you were on the list to call back today" when i call.

I don't want to stick a cheap and nasty universal filter on there tbh,i just wondered what filters others were running, any feedback etc

I had a K&N 57i which is good value and works well on a stock charger with a 68mm pulley (massive improvement over the standard airbox with the restrictor still in place). On an R1 with 65mm pulley I found it to be a bit restrictive probably as it uses the standard diameter inlet pipe. I then got the Jabba filter which uses a much bigger pipe and filter and there was a noticeable increase in boost.

i've got a slimline pipercross foam filter as with its location, is taking a battering but no foam stripping yet.

Something from the K&N universal range?

http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm

Quick google for UK suppliers:

http://www.rotaryart.uk.com/acatalog/KN_Universal_filters.html (cheap)
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-1128-air-filters-universal.aspx (more expensive)

All shapes, sizes etc.
