Maybe an article on the G40 coming soon, could be interesting.

cool!

Also, I have to say I do like those new polos and this gti looks very interesting.  I'm almost tempted to sell my soul to the devil and get financed up for one (almost....and as a replacement for my passat, NOT a replacement for my g40).

Cool will keep an eye out for the PH G review. The Polo isnt bad but if it were my money I think I'd have to go for the cheaper Fabia VRS. I've just quickly specced up a Polo on the VW site and it was £20500 or thereabouts I believe. Lot of money, you could have a decent daily and a nice Evo or something for that.

ouch! yeah £20 would soon get rid of any thoughts I might have had about getting one, that's just daft.

By the time Ten year has passed there will probably be a law that says all cars
at ten year old have to be scrapped. lol.

The thing that would worry me would be the DSG gearbox after ten years!

yeah they'll probably all be in scrapyards in ten years.  Once one of those complicated electronic gizmos goes in five years or so it'll write it off.

Exactly! And you know people who buy the bluemotion or whatever will look down their noses at us for not being 'green'...

I agree too..
It's a shame that vw doesn't have an optional manual gearbox for this model...
If the dsg has a failure, it will cost a fortune to repair...

Not really... consider that VW would never repair/rebuild a G40/G60 lader 15 years ago, you can get one serviced for £325 in 2010, they used to be over £1400 new when VW stocked them.

An aftermarket company will soon realise there's a market for repairing DSG boxes/ any new technology in a few years if it does break.

New Polo GTi looks good, be tempted to see how much one is on our car scheme at work...

Has anyone got one of these lumps and stuck them in an older model yet? I have a look for time to time on ebay for TSI stuff out of curiosity but never come across any engines, etc.
