Ok , got the engine running , and souns sweet apart from the blowing exhaust ahah anyway..
When i turn it on the oil pressure light comes on , and stays on. Then say i take it for a little drive and it will then start beeping.
Ive taken the oil cap off while its running and i can see the oil splattering around inside the rocker cover so i know the pumps working.
Ive tried to earth both the plugs so it knocks the switch off? (dunno if that would work) but yeah, i tried that and the switch light stayed on , so maybe a breakage in the wiring upto the switches?
also , the switch that connect's to the oil pipe (charger oil line) is a original g40 switch but the one to the right off it is off a mk2 polo 1.3 or 1L carb. So maybe its something to do with that switch?
again, ALSO haha theres the slightestttttttttt leak from the sump at the front. And i mean small it dosent drip but you can see oil a bit where the sump connects to the blocks.
Any help , much appreciated.
check your oil pressure sender wires are the correct way round? Yellow left, Blue right. As your looking from the front assuming your pressure switches are the same way round. There's only two ways, just see if the light and buzzer kicks off when you start it, then swap them around if they do.
forgot to mention , tried that mate :(
if there are no breaks in the wiring! then buy new senders!
Ok thanks mate , do you know how much senders are roughly? ta
there about £5 for Euro car parts.
ahhh , sound. Ill get some tomorro from CES (same as euro ahah)
i had this when we first got joes up and running its to do with the clocks. Late spec and early spec. Are you running the g40 clocks that came with you engine or just mk3 1.3 clocks?
The pump could be failing? Although it still pumps, it may be blocked or something. Worth checking the pickup in the sump, if not for peace of mind than anything else. You could get an oil pressure gauge too to check.
You shouldn't be able to see oil splashing about under the cam cover unless you haven't fitted the splash plates. If they are fitted and there's oil splashing about, it might be that it's not draining back fast enough and causing low sump level.
low oil level or the wrong grade oil could be to blame.
is the engine running to hot? as this will thin the oil out.
if the sender replacement also doesnt fix it - remove the sump and check the strainer isnt blocked up with crap.

this might actually be it... i havent fitted that plash plate thingy. Could it actually cause this?

im running 10w 40 semi oil. Proper expensive stuff that says on the back is suitible for turbo engine (so im guessin its sound for a supercharger as its essentially doing teh same thing)
The engine is running hot yeah , but it comes on from cold. The water temp sensor is knackerd i think as its tempermental.
Gona remove sump tomorro and have a chack. as it need sealing again anyway.
it's probably the wrong pressure sensor if it's just doing it all the time, even when cold. but it's well worth getting an oil pressure gauge.
Im going to invest in a oil pressure gage me thinks.
how exactly do they fit? never done one before...
it's a worthwhile investment, every g40 should have one! Best way to fit is to tee it into the oil pressure switch in the head that doesn't currently have a tee piece on it.

No mate, I'm saying that if the splash plates WERE fitted and there was oil splashing about that might be the problem.
i had this problem and it turned out to be a small rubber bung that fits between the oil pump and the plate it butts up against. its only a small gap and cant really be seen unless the oil pump is off which is a pain
