Title: how much life is left in this helix paddle clutch?
Post by: Jake on April 29, 2010, 09:45:16 PM
Hi all, I have a helix paddle clutch here that I bought but never fitted and I'm going to sell it. Only problem is I'm not sure how much life is left in it.
Does anyone have a brand new one that they could measure the pad parts so I can compare it to mine. Heres a couple of pics of mine...

If anyone has any idea of how much life is left in it and how much its worth, could they let me know please.

Thanks very much
Jake

ring helix and say you might be wanting an overhaul and ask what the specs are

Sintered is a way of producing a 'solid'. You heat up powder until it bonds together.

Re-Sintered is just the name given to putting new material.

I may ring helix and ask if they've got the specs then. I just wanna sell the clutch but have no idea how much life is in it, so I have no idea how much to put it up for!

How much life is left in it shouldn't really affect the price too much.

I'd of thought it would make a defference... how much you reckon its worth then?

well since the new clutch kit costs about £300 and getting on re-sintered costs about £45-£60 (I thought it was £60 myself), it's not that important if it's in need of a re-sinter soon.

thanks for the info. say around £180 then? since you could get it re-sintered for £40-£60 and it would be fine then and your still saving at least £60 on a brand new one?

all depends on the buyer, if it were me i'd rather pay an extra £60 to have a new one.

it would have to be about £100 cheaper in my opinion.

Fair enough, I'll stick it up for £150 and see how it goes.
Cheers everyone
