Alot of the AWT ones were fitted rigid to the engine so when the engine moved under accel and braking, it'd crack the welds.  ::)  Im not a bitter person of AWT at all, lol. ::)

Lance do you run a 2wd cossie intercooler or a 4wd one and is it with a turbo or eaton ? Also have you fitted it behind your bumper ok?? I've currently got a forge one but it is slightly too small to fit where I want it perfectly am thinking of getting a cossie one instead.

THS make resonable intercoolers for the money, my girlfriend has been running one on her Ibiza cupra for over 2 year's with no problems at over 200bhp, track days etc. Well worth a look IMO.

Is there nobody who produces an off the shelf kit?

not much comes in "off the shelf kit" form for a g40 as they are so rare.  Small specialist companies like PPP (look in the traders section on here) are your best bet.

I intent to fit an intercooler from a focus st whitch I got for €60, after replacing the standar plastic ends with custom aluminium! The real problem with fitting any intercooler seems to be the pipework, so pictures off any intercooler fitted would be greatly appreciated! I am currently runing an eaton m45 with the standar intercooler and had to move the radiator further to the front to keep it from hitting the charger! I considered moving the radiator horizontally too, to make some room for the new pipework but the custom outlet of the charger prevents any sideways movement of the radiator! The only options left seem to be either under or making holes! The intercooler from the ST seems to fit though even with the radiator repositioned! Here are some pictures of my pipework and the intercooler!
