Title: Does the white ptfe vacuum pipe go to the lower pipe on the servo feed?
Post by: g40willa on March 24, 2010, 02:12:00 PM
Hi everyone,

sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm looking for a picture of the routing of vacuum pipes, I've searched and got some info from other peoples threads but cannot find a definite layout. Moderators can we have a sticky vacuum pipe guide in this section please or can anyone point me in the right direction?. Apologies again if i'm barking up the wrong section of the forum....

the white pipe goes from the servo vacuum pipe to the ECU for the map sensor.

Thanks Haysey, is that the lower of the two pipes on the servo pipe?
It's in mk1 golf so I can't move the ecu because I've determined that it needs to stay below the rain tray. Can I extend the ptfe pipe or is that pre-set for a certain reading? Is there a diagram anywhere?

i wouldn't see why you couldn't extend it, i don't think its a set length

it is a set length actually, so really it's supposed to stay like that.  I 've heard of people having problems with g60s if they have messed with that pipe.

Doesn't matter which of the two connectors it goes to on the servo pipe though as they are both next to each other and connect to the same thing.;

Thanks man. I only need it to be about 2 inches longer, but I think I'll have to re-think the wiring to bring the ECU closer to the bulkhead, it turned over last night. Exciting times.

I think ETKA/Vagcat shows the length

Got my ECU in the house with the pipe attached - 47cm.

i was correct then! 1/2 a mtr

ETKA reads the plastic pipe as 460mm and both the cotton wrapped rubber end pipes as 40mm each. it is on illustration 16-60

pressure is dropped across a length, ecu will be calibrated for this drop
