Title: Best starting
Post by: Alexiskayak_7 on July 24, 2008, 09:33:49 PM
Accelerating fast with my stock G from a stoped possition i think that i keep my wheels spining in 1st gear so i loose plenty of time in 0-60, which is the best shifting time so i have a better time?

set off with a bit less throttle, pedal 3/4s down then once moving feed in some more power as your setup will allow.  Do you have decent tyres?

The production period of my tires is: 25weeks of 2005...
You mean, that i'll use the 3/4 of the throttle in 1st gear?
At 2nd gear? Full throttle?

full throttle if you get little or no wheelspin.  There's no perfect way of doing it, just practise and find out what works best for you.  When I say decent tyres, I mean a decent make too.

for maximum acceleration you need to apply as much throttle as possible without the wheels spinning.
Only you can know how much that is because it will be different between cars, you will have to learn through experiance.

ok.. So it's all about not spining the wheels (that needs practice)...

Those are good road tyres!

For better 1/4 mile times put more air in the rear tyres (e.g. 40psi) to reduce friction, and put less in the front (e.g. 20psi) to increase friction
