Title: massive water loss - core plug?
Post by: ben_91 on March 01, 2010, 12:59:59 PM
the g40 has been off the road over winter and like a tool i am, i left it with not enough antifreeze in it. it popped acore plug out the front which appeared to fix the problem. after a quick drive down my road and back, it is now leaking out of the side of the block. i cant see where exactly though. are there any plugs in the side or is it going to the waterpump?

Ben

possibly the waterpump, the only core plugs are on the front of the engine.  I'd check it out quick before driving the car because if the waterpump has been damaged you are running the risk of the cambelt breaking or coming off.

there are 2 mini plugs, one on each side of the block, i cant remember if they are for water or oil though off the top of my head??

Yeah I thought that, they'll be behind the cam belt plastic. I might have it on a picture I took last weekend.
