hi ive got what they call a stage 1 subframe excuding the uprated rear gearbox mount. im unsure if i should just buy the mount or get a full stage 3 subframe kit. how much beter are these? i plan to use the car for a little track time and just wondered if i would be amazed on the difference....
thanks for any help

TBH, if your serious about doing track days etc a full subframe is a must.
The standard anti roll bar not only has to control bodyroll but also keep the castor angle correct - keeping the struts from moving for and aft. It's fine piddling around with the 40bhp 895cc engine the original Polo had, but a bit much for a standard G40 let alone a modified one out on the track!
The full "stage 3" subframe does away with the anti roll bar and uses adjustable tension struts to virtually eliminate castor changes. They allow you to adjust/correct wheelbase dims. and dial in more castor to help turn in too.
The lack of anti roll bar isn't really a worry as most G40's by now have lowered and higher rate springs. The standard front anti roll bar has a tendency to pick up the inside or unloaded wheel during cornering too which is far from ideal.
Yoof (PPP) on here can sort you out with a subframe, they're expensive but probably the best you can buy.
Definitely the best way of spending £550 on a G40 chassis upgrade. Fancy coilovers etc can come later.
Hope this helps,
Richard.
yep, full stage 3 frame makes an AMAZING difference at track days. As does a limited slip diff.
