Title: TCA ball joint checking!

My G40 failed its mot on the track control arm balljoint how do i check it my self and what do i look for?

I have only just rebuilt the suspension with a cheap philj kit new top mounts and bushes i checked each TCA before i installed them.

the ball joints when warn flop about and have play in the joint. jack it up and play about, see if there is much movement.

I have check both sides and there fine!

The mot said it was the NS TCA but there is fuck all play there properly more play in the OS TCA but that did not fail!

if you jack that side up, try to wobble the wheel in and out with one hand and use your other to cup the botton of the ball joint.  you'll prob be able to feel slight knocking inside which is the worn ball moving about.
