Make: Volkswagon
Model: Polo G40
Year/Reg: 1994 L reg
Mileage: 91k (in daily use so will go up)
MOT: July 2010
Tax: April 2010
The car is completely standard apart from the boost return modification. Even has the standard radio tape player. I've owned this car since early last year and it hasn't missed a beat throughout the winter with the appauling weather. The car has a Toad Powerkey immobliser and a spare set of original keys.
Between 89k and 90k miles the following was replaced by either myself or PhilJ for peace of mind:
-Brake discs (brembo discs)
-Brake Pads (Greenstuff pads)
-Fuel filter
-Oil filter
-Spark plugs
-Dizzy cap
-Rotor arm
-Cam belt
-Waterpump
-Ignition leads
-Engine oil
-Blue temp sensor
-Lambda sensor
All parts were either bosch, beru, VW oem quailty items! I have recipts from VW/GSF/Eurocar parts to confirm all of the above.
Previous to my ownership the car has the following service history (as shown in original service book with stamps):
- 12/04/94 10k miles
- 23/03/95 13k miles
- 30/12/96 23k miles
- 08/04/99 32k miles
- 23/06/99 33k miles
- 08/03/00 43k miles
- 02/02/01 52k miles
- 15/06/02 61k miles
- 13/07/03 73k miles
- 06/10/04 83k miles
- At this point the car was sold to the previous owner who serviced the car him self. There are loads of recipts, mot's, car parts etc... He barely done 1k miles each year.
-Car was sold to me and myself and philJ carried out a large full service which covered everything.
The standard supercharger was rebuild by JabbaSport on 19/05/01 with recipit/certifict/serial number to proof.
The charger also had a mini service done by the previous owner two years ago which included seals are other items (still have the old parts to proof).
The car went on JKM's (local VAG specilists) rolling road on 06/02/10 with my local VW club (20 or so cars came along). The car made 112.3bhp in 100% standard form, with printouts to proof. The JKM guys said my G40 had the best power curve of the day and was running spot on which i was very happy about!
The previous owner very rarely used the car, was lucky to see 1k miles each year he owned it. The whole time being kept in his garage. Car was then sold to me and been in daily commuting use since.
Every car has some bad points though, there is some rusting to the bottom corner of both passager and drivers door. The rear window seal leaks slightly. Brakes need new retaining springs because these were not replaced when brakes were done which causes slight vibrations when braking (doesn't do it all the time). Few touch ups here and there done by a previous owner. Laquer peel on the rear drivers side panel. Has CL badge on the rear to avoid attention from morons, Both front and rear G40 badges are supplied in perfect condition with the car
Overall this is a great standard G40 running just how it come out of the factory!
