Title: Altenator mounting spacer
Post by: GAF2 on January 25, 2010, 02:29:05 PM
Hi guys,

can anyone supply me with the dimensions of the spacer (or even better a spare) used to mount the altenator into the engine mount, mine some how (f**k knows how) fell out along with the bolt and left my altenator bouncing of the block, been into my local VW and they said its discontinued!  am i right in saying that it is G40 specific?

cheers grant

I had the same problem too. Cant remember the size of the pipe spacer, i ended up finding a thick bit of pipe and a few think washers to make a tight fit. Anything should work as long as the alternator cannot move side to side.

33mm in length
20mm diameter
8.5mm ID centre hole

Hope this helps!!
