I think you'll find it's 15

Insurance companies use the ABI (association of british insurers) groupings as guidance only. If they want to rate it differently they are free to do so, so pinch of salt recommended.
Fairly sure ABI allocate it as a group 15 in any case?
cheers thought it was about 15
Always thought it was 13* the star usualy meany "high risk" lots of companies will not insure me due to the mods tho
I was told 13 by a couple of companies...
Well according to my Insurance company it is group 14 so im slightly confused now
never heard it as 14, only 13 or 15, had my car since 97
i have never asked the group when i got insurance i just paid the money, thats why i asked on here. it probably just depends on the company what group it is.
who cares classic car insurance is the way forward ;D ;D

i think it goes by car age rather than your age, but i could be wrong
My area of expertise this lads, ABI rate it as a 15 for sure, 100%, although this is intended as a guide to consumers only, not a hard and fast rule which insurers are obliged to stick to.
If you ask your own insurer they will tell you the group they allocate it as. For example we rate it as a 63/99 where a broker support 99 groups, 15 where they support 20 group etc. others will be different and that's before we get into whether we choose to impose special terms or apply a load based on another factor (we apply an additional load to 4x4's for example)
I guess the main point to make is that any argument that you might have following being quoted more for a G40 than another car which is supposedly the 'same group' will likely result in disappointment!

the car has to be over 15 years old and the driver(policy holder) must be over 25
