Hello,
I'm Sebastian from Germany and this is my Oeko-Polo. 52 cars have been built by VW / IAV for r&d purpose. The engine is a 2-Cyl. watercooled D.i.-Diesel with a G40 supercharger (with automatically activated magnetic clutch). Max. performance is 40 HP with Vmax up to 139 km/h ;D
More information (in german) here:

We'll exhibit this car together with a genuine Mk2 Cup-G40 while the Techno Classica oldtimer fair in April 2010 (http://www.polog40.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,3527.0.html (http://www.polog40.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,3527.0.html)). Perhaps anyone from here wants to visit us, you're welcome!
Looks lovely, squareback too ;D
cool! I've read about these things before, I've never seen one in real life though. Would be interesting to see.
What MPG do you get out of it?
Thats Cool! Funnily enough id just read about them on Wikipedia before coming across this, lol :D
Looks in excellent condition! 8)
That has to be the coolest G40 on here for sure!! And probably the rarest!! I love the air box/throttle body cover!!
thanks for putting these pics up that is one really rare polo you have their what kind of mpg do you get from it
steven
just realised it only has 14000 km on the clocks from new :o
Hello again,
yes, the car just ran 2 years on street while the praxis test and was then left in a garage.
In optimal case those cars need 1.7 - 1.9 Liter/100km at 60 km/h (highway). With average driving it needs 3,3 to max. 5 Liter/100km.
i'd love to hear wat this sounds like
is there any videos?
Don't have any videos yet, I'll have to get some. But the sound is... "special" ;D

If my maths is correct...
1.8L/100km is 157mpg
3.3L/100km is 85.6mpg
5L/100km is 56.5mpg !!
Not bad at all, especially compared to a BlueMotion (though they have a little more than 40bhp!).
Here is a video of the Eco-Polo's running engine, taken by french Polo-enthusiasts during the Techno Classica fair:
