Title: estimated power for spec
Post by: grayg40 on December 14, 2009, 12:43:57 PM
Just wandering what the estimated power would be for the engine spec of my G?
spec-
full blend charger
65mm pully
induction kit with sheild
G60 injectors
GT inlet
and chip to suit
ss exhaust (not sure on bore size but bigger than std)

I will get it RR ed next year when she comes back on the road in may, possibly with a little more mods.

anywhere between 145-160bhp dependant on the condition of your engine/charger and the chip you are running.

minus the injectors, the GT inlet and using a generic chip i wass making 140bhp without my induction kit on.

Mine was the same spec minus the injectors and it was RR @ 137bhp but I had a silly boost leak so the above sounds good to me.

ah yes i rememeber john, that was funny you were so upset that i made more than you. tough times, when i got home i realised that the boost pipe to the intercooler had come off, not sure if it happened on the way home or not though.

I was more concerned about getting it home in one piece I'll have you know ;)

I won the flame contest though. More overrun planned for next time and I'd have had you if I'd spotted the knackered top boost pipe :(

without the cylinder head porting or cam my friends ran 161bhp with a rebuilt standard bottom end, with a custom chip to suit mods. If you got the car mapped and had a healthy engine 160-170 wouldnt being pushing it too much for an estimate

i really hve high hopes but its standard untouched 96k bottom end.
illbe on look out next year for 1341bottom end with bvh
i'd really like 180 bhp !!
but would be happy with 160 ;o !
but it needs timimg done and set up proper ?

i might invest in buying a timing light..

e.g unplug blue temp and certain things..
