Title: the dreaded blue temp sender

evening sorry for all the qusetions,erm im hearing that when you replace this sender its not as simple as just swapping it!!!!!is this true any ideas ;D

not sure what you mean really, takes about 30 seconds to do

still takes 30 seconds to do when it's hot, just you have 2nd degree burns at the end of it.  ;D

Whose telling you all this top advice about the G40?  Id ignore them!

a vw garage in leicester lol well my engine cuts out when i put the car into service mode whats gone wrong

can mean the ignition timing is out or another sensor is faulty.  Mine did it when it had a random ECU fault that I could only cure by replacing the ECU but go through the engine diagnosis FAQ first.  Checking the wiring loom is pretty important as these can be damaged and/or corroded these days.

Not really a needle in a haystack.  The G40 engine is actually quite a simple engine system once you get your head round it. :)
