evening all im having trouble with my timing the camshaft and crankshaft pullys are inline with the marks to set it up.now im having trouble with the distrubitor i cant seem to get it in the correct position for it to run perfect.ive had a strobe light on it to set it but no joy any advice would be appriciated many thanks matt ::) ;D ;D 8)

Did you set it to the correct mark?  the O or the Z.

Set Cam to the 0 mark.


Set 6deg ignition timing to the Z

i set the crank to the z and just lined the cam up with the arrow on the cam cover

thats why it runs like shit then! probably a tooth out.

sorry boys im lost lol i need to set the cam to the o and the ignition to z correct?so what about the crank

Do a search on cam timing.  You are aligning the camshaft pulley dot against the arrow with the bottom crank pulley's O mark.

Once this is done, you can use a strobe light to set up the ignition base timing.  by moving the distributor round to align the Z mark (engine running).
