I've got a Newman copy of the shtick turbo cam that psd used to use I was just wondering if any one knows the specification of it, as I'm Reading a book on cams and it would be helpful for me to know the spec of the cam that I've got.
Tha thanks
can you go for one day without starting a new post????? :P
that's kind of the point of forums Rocket ;)
dunno what the spec is as PSD would never tell anyone.
I can go for a day without starting a new thread but i Get bored at work!! I'll try not to bother any one with new posts for a while unless it's realy nessecsary!
See if you can take it to a cam manufacturer, i.e. newman themselves, and get it measured up by them. Im sure their able to get details like that, unless their unwilling to share the secrets too.
Schrick Catalogue...

Page 16 has the G40 one - 252/276 with 9.6/10.0mm lift.
I think PSD were experimenting with 11.1mm of lift if it helps, maybe wrong but cant remember much from those days. Im sure they just picked it out of a catalogue though. Would have thought the tooling costs etc of design etc for a new cam would have been too much.
Page 17 has the G60 versions (1.8 G60) but i wonder if they used its duration and lift for the G40 turbo. 268/268 with 11.2mm lift and also 268/276 with 11.2/11.5mm lift.... if im reading it right.
My newman one was a 264... (cant really remember any details on it) made peak power at 6600rpm. I needed a cam that peaked at 7600 ish rpm.
I already rung up and spoke to Newman they said email them n they never got back to me. But when I was on the phone they said it was a copy of a shrick one and more than likley the one that psd used to use.
