hi every one,
im after a big valve head, i know some people have theres done by man in the shed on club gti just wondered what price was and what work has been done ?? i would go on club gti and find out but youve got to become a member for a tenner and i dont wanna do it unless im going to get one from there is the man in the shed still doing them ???
Any other places that do them at a reasonable price??
My last option is that chris on here who is braking his can is selling his but his engine had some det problems and i think the head has been slightly damaged by it but im not sure weather it will still be ok and or weather it mite need rebuild if so how much will this cost? he has posted me these pics just wanted some opinions on it as i dont know very much about heads and even less about heads damaged by det !!

can't really tell anything from those pics. You don't have to join club gti to sign up to their forum (or at least you didn't used to have to).
On clubgti, Mike H is the man to contact.
Not being a paid up member mean you dont have permission/access to specific threads on the Clubgti forum, more specifically the price list for the heads.
So baisicaly if in I want a bvh done by mike h thn I'm going to have to become a paid memeber. That's cool I suppose I'll still make a saving thanks for the help guys how much roughly was yours hayesey?
it's not mike h who does them he just puts you in touch with the guy as the man in the shed doesnt go on the internet. I guess you can just PM mike h without paying up?

Mine came to just shy of £500 for big valve supply and install, porting and replacing of things like valve guides, lapping in all the valves etc...
That's a very good price I think do that. And yes it is a new thing after you got yours done they moved the group buy thread as it was too long at 18 pages and they moved it to a members area unfortuantly.
Did you have to Supply the big valves or Did you supply them it's just the exhaust valves that are bigger b 2mm is it?? Think I will get in touch with this mike and see what he says.

no the £500 included them buying the bigger valves from jabbasport.
my head went to an engine builders yesterday and they have skimmed the head for £50 and said its all fine now. picking it up in the morning
