Title: tool sizes - torque bits
Post by: supercharged spaniel on November 22, 2009, 12:25:17 PM
What size spline or torque bits or whatever they are called do I need to crack the head bolts?  I have a spare 1.3 engine I want to take the head off to keep.  Also drive shafts?  What size. Im not going to bother with a whole set just gonna buy the two I need.  Thanks. Dan

drive shafts are 8mm spline and head bolts are 10mm spline if I remember correctly.  They're not torx.

for the head bolts make sure you buy a M12 tool which is a longer one rather than the stubby ones as one one of the headbolts will be almost inpossible to get to without a longer spline due to the head casting getting in the way.
