a friend of mine bought a corrado g60 a few weeks ago as a project car,
it had 260,000 miles on the clock! so he got it super cheap, neadles to say,
the supercharger grenaded last week and embeded parts of itself in the bonnet,
to our knowledge ( looking through the extensive history ) the charger had never been serviced!
i think this must be the highest milage g lader out there that still functioned untill recentley!
And here's me feeling guilty about running my old G for 90k without a rebuild.lol. What's even more surprising though is that the 60mm charger is reckoned to be much weaker than the 40mm. Maybe there's been a DIY service in there without any paperwork.
i've known ones grenade (g60) after about 80k, so its probably on its 4th!
My G40 charger is on 147K without a rebuild. The other G40 I had destroyed its charger at something like 75K miles (before I got it).
My old corrado's supercharger had 105K on it unserviced before it blew itself up... a week or so after I bought it and 2weeks before it was due to be booked in at Jabba for an R1 ::) Blocked oil feed was the cause though so reckon it could have gone alot further.
The black track car i had was 126k on the clocks with an original unserviced charger, and was mint inside when it was opened up.
My charger has done 95k miles and hasnt even had a service, well it might of done but there is no receipt of it.
Runs fine too.
thing is, they still boost well, even when they are on their way out and dieing, if the bearings are worn it'll grind together but still produce the power!
