Snapped a tooth belt that was 1000mm long. got the standard 1040mm one, put it on and went to tension it. Now the charger is hitting the stop at the end of the bolt slot on the side of the engine and the belt is nowhere near tight enough.
How can I tension it anymore? shorter belt time? or does the alternator need moving to make it tighter?
Thanks!
The alternator can tension the belt but not by alot AFAIK.

german ebay kit? you need a 1000 length belt.
psd kit? you need a 1040 length belt.
as far as i know pulleys are different sizes, hence the different belt lengths...
alternator barely moves - it wont move enough for what you want!
Thanks man. I got some pullys that where worn. (aluminium) so we made some custom ones that were based on them. I know the PSD ones where a different ratio. but they were kinda based on the same pully size as the german ones. next smallest i can get is a 960. will try that.
Thanks for your help.
