Seen it many times, lives near me :)
Very nice car, always gets wayyyyyyyy loads of attention and is very good condition
I personally think it's vile with lot's of what i call 'pointless mods' and waaaayyy overpriced. Quality looks top notch to be fair but I'd rather pay that sort of money for an absolutly MINT standard G40. Just my opnion obviously.
I'm with Dan on this one.
The build quality does look very impressive indeed..... BUT....I always think these type of cars have way too many themes going on at one time. The roll cage and harnesses are fine if the car was a motorsport derived one, bit it isn't. And they certainly don't go very well in a leather trimmed interior with electric windows and a big ICE install. The body mods would be fine too if it was a euro look or whatever they call it.
Personally, I think the early Polo's only lends themselves to either performance orientated modifications or standard OE rebuilds.
Likewise, it's a wonderful piece of engineering and craftmanship but the money (in my opinion) could have been spent elsewhere while still ensuring a spankingly gorgeous car. Lovely colour too :)
I wouldn't even say its a piece of 'engineering' the term engineering is so loosely used these days. Polishing parts and bolting stuff on isn't engineering in my eyes.
last time i seen it some fat weirdo was putting shit loads of tyre shine on it.
not my thing.
Im with breadman on this one - too much going on. No real defined theme.
Its odd i don't like it!
I much prefered it years and years ago when it looked like this haha :P

It was built by Ged Mcforgothisname, the man who brought you all the front lower brace bar or the better know "ged bar" as all the young uns call them these days
Back in the day when Ged first used to show this car it was pretty much one of the only show standard polos bar the oem g40s that were kicking about then so its kind of a big part of modified polo history.
The mods were pretty radical back then but now they aint anything special as parts and shiny bits have become cheaper and more readily avaliable over the years thanks to the likes of PPP and the late Pitstop Developments and german companys on ebay etc
I always hated the 15" wheels on it as i dont think 15's suit any mk3 polo and it was never quite low enough for my tastes
but at the same time it was something very different and fresh back then hence why it used to win nearly every modified polo show and shine comp going.
Looks even worse then lol
Lots of firsts on this car though, and the workmanship is first class. Saw this car first in the flesh in 2002 a few months before Polo Show and was blown away.
Even if you don't like the Euro Look- you should apprechiate the high quality throughout the car. As for the theme- remember this car was built over 10 years ago!!!
it used to look like a block of cheese. i think its a fantastic car, its probably cost around 3 times the asking price to get it where it is, wheels alone must be worth over a grand. nice to see a real G40 show car.
it's not what I'd do to a car but the work done is impressive and it's not just bolt-on mods, those rallye headlights certainly wont have just bolted on.
I know what you mean about no proper theme though breadman, I never really get the idea of putting a roll cage in with loads of speakers and leather seats. Still, it's a nice car in general I reckon, just for it's clean-ness.
I can see where your coming from hayz although I never thought for a second that the lights were just bolt on lol. Still though in my eyes that does not make it a wonderful piece engineering. That red one with the space frame with a ton of fabrication is a wonderful piece of engineering to me. It does look of a very high quality though and it does look like a car to be proud of. A car like this will always get mixed views as we can see already in this short thread and for some that's what gets them going with such a project. To be fair though I've never seen the car up close so it's hard to make a true judgement and as Yoof said he was blown away on seeing it. I suppose that's what it would take to totally appreciate something like this.
On another note, hasn't it been for sale for ages?
It is a nice car, and it was one of the first heavily modded G40's that I saw on the scene. There's a load of things on it that aren't to my particular taste, but I'm sure the people that have owned in would all say the same about mine....
