Post by: GAF2 on November 05, 2009, 05:26:30 PM
hi guys, well the polo failed its mot today on emmissions.  Its reading was 12%, so there is definatly something wrong and after reading a few posts on here am i goin to try a new lambda probe.  Problem is the website below is saying i need Ls04 3 wire but the plug on mine has 4 wires (one is an earth) are they right?

not sure on the lamda but have you tried putting something like redex in your fuel?
did you give it a good roasting before taking it for the MOT?
mine failed last year on emmisions put some redex in with under a 1/4 tank of fuel and give the thing death for 5 mins before going to get re tested and the emmisions were good after that.

id buy a bosch one, not a universal one.

iirc 3 wires come from the probe to the plug, but then another from the plug to a ground
