Don't mean to be funny, but I think that's a catch tank. If it were an oil tank for a standalone system, how would you put the oil in?  :D

It's not an oil catch tank. I got the same one for my standalone supply. You could use it gor a catch tank but you wouldnt know the level of it. I beleive the tank was made by PSD. Simple to fill just from the top using a small funnel.

Oil comes out the bottom, to pump then after the lader it comes back in through the side connection.

Shimples.

Ok, I stand corrected! ::)
I have a PSD one and it's nothing like that though. It seems silly that you have to fill it via a tiny funnel. You wouldn't fill your engine via the dipstick! :D
My PSD tank has a large knurled screw cap with internal seal, far better than that one IMO.

that's not a psd one, they had bigger screw on caps with breathers in them, you could certainly use that tank for a stand alone tank but you'll need some sort of cap for it that allows it to breathe.  or it could be used as a catch tank.

ok guys sorry ive been on holiday so havnt been around to post but baiscaly,
i know for a fact this is a psd tank cause its exactly the same as the one ive got on my stand alone the only problem is it comes with no fittings , it has got a larger fitting welded to the top wich on my oil system has fitting with a hole in the top you would need to aquire one of these not sure where from.
This wouldnt make a great breather tank as it has no baffle init and there is a possiblity of blowing oil up through the breather but its all down to the buyer im just selling it as a tank !!
The fitting on the side and bottom are the same size and the one on the top is larger , i can measure the fittings if needed and i can even post pics of the screw top with a hole in it on my oil system if someone wants to try n get hold of one but the sale still stands guys pm me if your intrested or post on here   ;D

what size are the inlet/oulets chap?

had a lil measure up today and in internal diameter of the hole on the top fitting is 9.9mm with an outside diameter of 3/4 inches the thread on it i dont know exactly what thread it is but it has 14 tpi as i measured it with a thread guage and in my book shows up as a dash 8 thread
the two smaller fittings are 7.4mm internal diameter with i think it was 3/8 od and the same thread im not sure what threads they are there not metric imperial or bsp they mite be some kind of hydraulic thread if they are im not sure wich one but these dimesions should give you a rough idea of what they are i will measuare again tmroo and write it down as these numbers i just remeberd as i forgot to write them down  :-[ any way hope this helps oh and i will sell the tank for £30 if collected postage is around a fiver cheers
