Title: map sensor,pressure sensor?/???
Post by: nikky on October 09, 2009, 07:11:55 PM
hi
in the middle of k03ing the g40
i hear you must run a uprated map sensor to boost over 1bar(15psi)
think is when i had my charger on i was boosting around 18-19psi and it ran fine all the way though to 6.5k revs
so do i need a uprated one?
and a pressure sensor on the throttle do i need that or can i keep the std one, seen afew pressure sensors on ebay but not sure if they will work?
cheers ;)

Stock g40 sensors don't read over 1bar, so you have to change it...
Pressure sensor on the throttle? There is no pressure sensor in the throttle... All the other sensors will work fine...

A standard map sensor only reads to 200kpa absolute- so even if you run 3 bar boost for instance (400kPa absolute) the map sensor will only read it as 200kpa, and give fueling/ignition to suit- which isn't good!

We sell a 250kPa sensor, allowing you to run 1.5bar boost (21.75psi) which on a 1341cc G40 will net you over 200bhp on a K03  :)

The switch you talk about replaces the full throttle switch with a boost switch set to 5psi, this allows the enrichment section of the map to be achived without the throttle fully open, which you need with a turbo.
