Title: Intercooler removal
Post by: JonnieG40 on October 06, 2009, 04:47:47 PM
Does anyone know the correct procedure for removing the standard intercooler? I havn't checked it out on the car. Ive had a look through haynes but theres nothing in there. is it straight forward to remove?

My plan is to clean it up a bit (remove the flies) and straighten out the fins.

Just the case of undoing a couple of bolts iirc and undoing and removing the boost pipes. Easy to do. I put mine in a bucket of soapy water to remove the oily buildup and then rinsed in well and left it to dry for a couple of hours.

managed to get it off yesturday without complication apart from a rounded off nut which was very annoying! I've straightned out most of the fins now. Next im takin it up the jet wash to blast out all the gunk
