Title: Help with a few things
Post by: Jezza-7 on September 28, 2009, 01:26:30 PM
Have a few things on my mind...

Can someone tell me why oil catch tanks have two inlets?
And how to fit them?

What is the purpose of a standalone oil tank?

When using an oil cooler kit does the oil pump need to be replaced or get an uprgraded one?

Thanks

Can someone tell me why oil catch tanks have two inlets? -normally one inlet and one outlet so it doesn't pressurise
And how to fit them?
to your breather pipe - remove the one way valve, like a flying saucer and fit a 1" pipe to catch tank - blank off the charger second inlet and use PTFE lube once every 1000 miles

What is the purpose of a standalone oil tank?
To reduce the oil temp/pressure to the charger, increasing bearing and oil seal life

When using an oil cooler kit does the oil pump need to be replaced or get an uprgraded one?

no - should be fine
