Title: quickshift
Post by: Tommyk on September 24, 2009, 04:37:26 PM
Hi,

does anyone know of any weighted quickshift kits are available for the g40?

id like a nice short riffle bolt feel if possible......

i have already shortened the shaft which has improved things but would like to improve further if poss.....

anyone know how different a mk1 golf linkage is and if a quickshift kit for that can be modded to fit the polo mechanism?

Tommy.

I do believe there is a kit which will fit the G40 but was £500+  :o

I'll try and locate the info.

There is no direct replacement short shift or weight enhancement for the Mk3 or earlier polo's. I think the only available short shift mechanism is a CAE one which means cutting the tunnel and relocates the shift mechanism in a more motorsport style. Only really looks good in track or race cars to me.

I would be content with a shortened gearstick with new gearstick base and bushes if theres any play etc.

okey dokey!

does anyone know if one of the pivot pins in the mech can be relocated to shorten the throw.... i believe mk1/mk2 golf owners do this so couldnt see why it wouldnt be poss with the polo?
