Title: From scratch? Eaton conversion? how and what?
Post by: JimmyG40 on September 20, 2009, 10:41:56 PM
Hi, my supercharger needs a service, but i can get a supercharger off a mini cooper s fairly easily, would that be the right charger to use for a conversion?

How easy is it to do?
What do i need?
what about costs? (roughly)

its something i keep thinking about doing?

Your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

:)

if you're thinking it's going to be a cheaper job than getting your g-lader serviced then it really isn't.  I'd expect an Eaton conversion to cost at least a grand and that's with you doing all the work yourself.  The bracketry you need isn't simple and will cost a bit to get machined up, then you need to get the ECU remapped....it's not as simple a job as it might seem at first glance.

^^^ Agreed!

I past £5k a while ago and it still needs a remap!
