Title: help on buying a g40

hi guys
im looking at buying a w reg polo with a g40 lump in
think is its got smaller pulley(63mm i think.i have seen that these can blow seals so il get a 65mm if i buy it)
he says it runs but after 4k on boost it bogs down due to fuel(not getting much)would this be the chip oh its got g60 injectors too
il be doing to deal 2moro with my 106 gti

how do you know its a fuelling issue?

im not sure if it is a fueling issue he says it it
its got g60 injectors and g40 chip he said and 63 pully

it will be running very lean if it's got g60 injectors and g40 injectors fuel map, amazing it hasn't melted a piston really. 

That will definitely be (one of?) the causes of the problem.

just asked again and its g40 injectors and g60 chip(is that better than g60 injectors and g40 chip)
need to drive it home tooo

No, I don't think they have enough capacity. I have a spare set of G60 injectors available. They are cleaned and tested, but are 290cc instead of 250cc. This may overfuel slightly but it's better to slightly overfuel than underfuel (as that causes damage).

don't think my brain is working properly today.  What I said before is the wrong way round.  G60 injectors with a g40 injector map will cause over fuelling but g40 injectors with a g60 injector map will cause under fuelling which is running the risk of melting pistons.

G60 injectors are 250cc per minute @ 3 Bar

g40 ones are 190cc if I remember correctly.

you need 250cc ones if the ECU map is to suit g60 250cc injectors, no others will work properly.  Similar size ones (+ or - maybe 10cc) you'd prob get away without damaging the engine but it's not ideal.
