Title: Few questions about suspension and alloy/tyre size
Post by: Jezza-7 on September 08, 2009, 01:39:57 AM
Im looking at the moment at suspension kits for my car. I have coilovers on my 6n but i honestly dont like coilovers.

So my questions are, what would be a good kit to get?

And what is a good size to drop? Could someone post up some pics of different G's on 40mm kits, 60mm kits and any other variations.

And for alloys, im in the process of trying to get hold of bbs ra's.

What alloy size is good to get and width?

I have read that 14's 6J seem to be good.

But what tyre size would be good?

Thanks.

Suspension's very much a matter for discussion, but I think the 6x14 BBS RA's with 185x50 rubber is probably the most popular "all round" choice. 195x45 steering starts to get a bit heavy.

i really couldnt tell the difference in steering effort between stock g40 wheels and 195 x 45 x 14 toyo t1-r's, neither did the mrs.....

dito!

At the moment the alloys are 15's with 195/45's on them, i think there 6J. I find it hard to steer when im parking, although my arms get a good work out! So having slighty smaller alloys should make it a bit lighter?

I run 185/50/14 yoko a539's

No direct comparison as they're the only ones I've run on these wheels but overall a good tyre I reckon and a good fit on a 14x6
