Title: No air guide on intercooler?
Post by: Justin14100 on September 06, 2009, 06:14:57 PM
While looking on ETKA i noticed there is an 'air guide' for the intercooler  (871 121 284 B) - mine deffo does not have this!
List price is apparently under £10 - might be going to VW tomorrow so it worth ordering one?
Would it make much difference?

Thanks!

Iirc, it's just a piece of plastic that directs air onto the intercooler. May make a slight difference.

Yes, It guides the air into the intercooler. It will help the coolers efficiency slightly. They are under a tenner, but probably on back order (so it might take a week or so to come in).

if they are a tenner then it's definitely worth it.  Like Dan said it'll help increase the efficiency of the cooler by directing air through the core, without one the air tends to try to go around the core (because it's the path of least resistance).  Same applies to radiators too, they'll work better if the air guide is left on.
