Hi,
I have a 22.2mm brake master cyclinder on my G40, which from looking through history was purchased from PSD for £36.
I dont like the feel of how the pedal is, and after replacing discs and brakes i think the cyclinder could be behind my very poor braking! After changing the discs and pads the braking is still extremely poor.
Where should i purchase a new standard G40 cyclinder from and and what cost? I checked europarts and their are a few different onces on there, which is the best brand?
Thanks
Leon
i always thought mk3 polo ones (same as g40) were vw specific at 17mm.... then golf ones are 19mm - which i think they'll supply.
swapping it from a 22mm will give yu longer pedal travel and a softer more spongey pedal btw.
if it hasnt got braided flexis, i'd suggest you buy some.... i really rate them
ps, the condition of the rear brakes really alters how the pedal and brakes feel, even if they dont make the car stop quicker
It has braided hose's.
Rear drums etc were replaced my previous owner a week before i bought it.
The BMC on eurocarparts are 20.64?
according to vagcat
19.05 is a rhd one and 20.64mm is a lhd one
The way the rear shoes are adjusted makes a big difference in feel too.
Its not just the feel, the brakes are extremely poor compared to my GT.
Need new cylinder guys,
Any ideas were to get a standard one from apart from VW dealership, eurocar parts only have 22.2mm's and 20mm's which isnt the right size...?
