Title: Exhaust studs - what size?
Post by: Alex on August 26, 2009, 08:24:06 PM
I'm missing two manifold-downpipe studs.

Can't be arsed with VW prices as I'm getting a full system soon (hopefully)

What size do I need?

M10, but they need to be high tensile.

Seems weird that G40s have M10 exhaust studs, thats massive. Anyone know why?

The flange is much bigger than a normal polo one, which helps explain in.

Cool, I'll see if I can get a set locally without a trip to the stealers. Judging by how I've got the two new ones, I guess they don't like to be reused. It's the two old ones which have dropped out. ::)

Nothing wrong with using them again, providing the threads are ok.

Yeah mine had been re-used already though, I guess they'd been over-tightened at some point.
