I might make an events calendar for the site at some point but for now, is any one planning on doing any track days this year?
I was planning on going to Anglesey at the end of this month (March) but due to my passat needing a load of suspension arms for the MOT I don't think I'll be able to afford it. Will have to see! Also running out of time to get my subframe fitted, diff fitted and get the alignment sorted by then, mainly due to me being lazy or working on this website the last week or so.
I'm also planning on going to Castle Combe on April 19th with a couple of mates.
Not planned anything after that but will def be doing more. Don't think I'll make the Nurburgring this year due to money.
Anyone else up for doing some track days?
Well i'm going to Nurburgring this year again
Last year was class but didn't have the balls to take my car but if I can get at least one of mine to be reliable I will be driving over
I'm up for Castle Combe, as its not far for me.
Be up for Donnington sometime :)
Once I've got some brakes on, and the car mapped I'm up for Donington too.
what dates are on at donnington?
I'm taking mine to the Nürburgring this weekend. Eek...
Mentioned this to Yoof a few days ago. I would be up for a few track days.
Are people looking t go weekends as they tend to be alot more expensive. I am lucky in that my work over the summer is very flexible so can take the odd day off whenever I like.
http://bookatrack.com is normally where I find track days.
I know max_crox has attended Curborough Sprint Course and says its a good day out.
Curborough is very good, im going next month.

Sounds like that would be fun lol
the only request i have is for a track with fewer corners :) as this isnt really where the polo comes out strong.

Representing tesco trolly masive :P
Right lads lets sort some days out.
Brands Indy - Thursday 3rd, Thursday 17th July & Monday 3rd July
Bedford - 23rd Aug
I know you lot are mainly oop norf but what you guys think?
Croft, Anglesey and is too far for me really.
Donny & Rockingham is an option
Daily rentals for Curborough are quite good. It's a hillclimb track, you get it all to yourself for the day and there's plenty of run off if you cock it up. Might be worth organising a Club G40 closed track day?

looking on their calendar august seems to be pretty packed out. No mention of prices but whats the cost?
Sure we can cherry pick a few people from club polo and maybe further afield if need be. Maybe even offer the Ronald 5 boys a chance. After all any idiot can whack up the boost and drill out the carb. Takes a real man to make a race car.
I know special rates for journalists, but I know clubs hire it out and it's about £60-£80 for a whole day per participant. And I think that's about ten people on track.
Thats not a bad price! ill be up for it for shore and my m8 in his g40! would love a g40 track day!
that's very cheap! I'll look into it when I get a chance.
Pretty sure i could get 3 G40's to come out an play on a track day if the price is right, all depends on how far we would have to travel as previously said alot of you guys are far north.
Curborough is in Lichfield so it's pretty central really. I've been to a ClubGTI track day there before. It's not like a normal track day though, they just let one car out at once because the track is tiny. When I was there each car did two laps and then went to the back of a queue again.

Thsts sound ok an it's only 60 odd miles from Northampton so im pretty sure i could persuade the other two guys to come along would be intereting to put the G through it's paces, definately wont be breaking any records though :D
Top Gear test track is between £1000 and £1500 for the day ;)
funny you should say that pete somebody else mentioned it to me to.
10 people - 150pounds = good laugh
lol that would be a good crack but not at 150quid!
You would want the stig to be there for that sort of money.
£150? that's cheap as fuck, trackdays are normally more like £250.
£150 not bad for an entire day, I'd drive down for that! It's about £60-100 for a 4 hr session at knockhill, more on a weekend. Could make some sweet Top Gear-esque videos.
