im looknig for w5dpo's
and an ignition lead set
but is Vw worth doing or gsf?
i priced up vw and there slightly cheaper than gsf?
is it worthwile going for an uprated lead set?!
hows magnecor 8mm? or even e.g 1.4polo 16v (just for name sake)
thanks for input
I have noticed GSF have gone a bit downhill as far as quality in the last few years so usually get everything direct from VW. Their prices are pretty good.
Mind you having said that I've just looked up last service bills and got Longlife plugs from VW @ £27 incl VAT and leads from GSF!! Part no 905-QHT-024, £15 incl VAT. Not sure which ones they are. By the price prob just standard.
plugs from gsf..as theyre bosch.
leads..28 quid a set from vag.
Cant be that much difference between VW and GSF. IIRC, leads are 28.50 from GSF.
but are they quantum? or another decent make? knowing gsf the ends probably snap off when you take them out the box :D :D :D
Couldnt tell ya. they fitted ok and cured the lil niggles my car had so did what i paid for.
the VW parts boy quoted they were bosch
and the it was on £9 odd +VAT each on w5dpo
i should order a set from VW now too then..
thanks :)

thats fair play... ;D
if you buy leads from GSF then just make sure they give you the german made ones which in my experience will either be Beru or BBT, both of which are OE quality. But if they were £28 from VW then you might as well go there.
Went into VW dealership today to get some parts for thy G40, one of the things i was after was HT Leads....The guy said they didnt do them anymore?
Anyone know the exact part number to get them from VW?
Thanks
N 100 528 09. Think you will find that they are £22+vat EACH on trade. They are special order but they are still available...
Were can i get a set of standard Ht leads other then VW? GSF dont seem to have bosch ones and eurocarparts is down atm?
EDIT: are these correct? There was two bosch g40 Ht sets on ebay, both different numbers! I'm assuming this is the correct one though....

As Hayesey said BBT ones from Gsf. They are fine.

Dont see them on the website?
Oh I never use that sorry. I always go in. Just give your local one a ring.
BBT are a german company and thats what they stocked last time i went... no beru. Me and sam said hmmm never heard of them. They convinced us they were ok and they've turned out to be.
the BBT ones look identical in every way to the BERU ones, I'm convinced they'll be made in the same factory and then put in different packaging. As with anything at GSF, they don't always use the same supplier for parts so sometimes you'll get Beru and sometimes BBT perhaps sometimes something else as well. Just make sure to get the german made ones and they'll be reet.
Hi all,
Any ideas on if "TDC" ones are any good? Its what eurocarparts stock...
Edit: Got Beru Ht leads from GSF, 26quid
