Title: Part number needed for throttle body gasket - help!
Post by: DaBigGinger on August 12, 2009, 10:03:15 AM
Does anyone have a part number for the gasket that goes between the throttle body and the boost return valve? VW can only see one for the N/A engine which has an elbow above the throttle body instead of the giant T-piece boost return valve?

If they can't be obtained anymore, would something like silicone liquid gasket be suitable to replace this?

can't seem to find it on vagcat.com, there's no picture of a g40 throttle body on there!  Probably best off buying a piece of gasket card and cutting one out yourself.

Cool. You can always rely on Hayesey for an answer!  ;D Would you put gasket sealant with the gasket card, or do you reckon it would be best without?

ah yeah. the code is there on vagcat but it just doesn't show it in the picture!  I wouldn't have thought sealant was necessary really but it wont do any harm.
