Post by: Etches on August 08, 2009, 12:01:21 PM
Is the fuel pump in the G40 different from the other models? And also are the fuel lines the same??

Only the carb models are different!!! Every mono- or multi-point injection are the same when we talk about the fuel pumps and fuel lines (including G40)!!!

The single point injection pumps are less powerfull than those of the MPI engines. You can identify the MPI ones by the 8mm outlet, the others are all 6mm AFAIK.

OK, I'm driving with a fuel pump from AAU engine, because my died and I've no problems with the fuel. The pump was the same, the orriginal from the mono. So...???  ::)

the single point injection mk3 engines have a different pump with a lower maximum flow rate, they look the same to look at but they aren't the same.  You'll probably just about get away with an SPI pump on a standard g40 but it's risky, people have melted pistons in the past this way.

The pump on the multi-point injection mk3 engines are all the same, so that's G40, GT and NZ engines.
