Title: Dewedging throttle body

I remember reading an article a couple of years ago about removing the wedges from throttle body to improve acceleration.? is it worth doing+ does it cause  any negative effects i presume vw put the wedges there for a reason.would be gratefull for any input.

the shape of them makes the throttle opening more progressive but they restrict airflow when the throttle is fully open.  Removing them does make the throttle response more jumpy on normal day to day driving.
